Ravneet Singh Bittu Resigns from Union Council of Ministers on PM Modi's Advice

Ravneet Singh Bittu has resigned from the Union Council of Ministers. On the advice of PM Modi, President Murmu has accepted his resignation. He was holding the responsibility of Minister of State for Railways. The President accepted his resignation under clause (2) of Article 75 of the Constitution of India. Bittu became a part of the Union Council of Ministers after becoming a Rajya Sabha MP and was given the post of Minister of State for Railways. His term as Rajya Sabha MP ended in June 2026 and he was not sent to the Upper House again. The official statement said that on the advice of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the President accepted Bittu's resignation from the Union Council of Ministers with immediate effect. President Murmu is currently abroad on a three-nation tour. According to the rules, if a minister ceases to be a member of Parliament, he has to resign or become a member again within 6 months. Bittu was no longer a member of Parliament. That is why he has resigned and Ravneet Singh Kurien has also accepted his resignation from the third term of the Modi government.
