Reservation Lottery Held in Dungarpur for Municipal Council Elections

The process of reservation lottery was held in the EDP auditorium of the Zilla Parishad regarding the civic elections. Reservation of 40 wards of Dungarpur Municipal Council was decided first. Before the process started, Collector Deshaldan and ADM Prakashchandra Raigar gave information about the process related to the reservation lottery. Ward numbers 6, 7 and 8 were reserved for the SC category in the advertisement lottery. After this, the lottery of women's reservation was taken out in these wards. Ward numbers 3, 11, 23, 25 and 28 were reserved for the ST category. There was also a lottery of women's reservation in these wards. Eight wards were reserved for the OBC category and after this, the lottery of women's reservation was also taken out in the general wards. After the advertisement lottery process, BJP's former vice-president Sudarshan Jain, former councilor Manohar Patel and former district president Prabhu Pandya raised questions on the reservation. Sagwara MLA Shankar Decha and BJP district president Ashok Patel also supported the process. Sudarshan Jain alleged that the question of reservation in some of the SC and ST wards should not be taken up on the basis of the serious population.
