Resident Caught Lighting Cracker in Bank Colony, Blamed for Loud Blast

On hearing the sound of the blast, his security personnel reached the spot and after taking stock of the surroundings, informed the Police Station Division Number One. On receiving the information, DSP City Jagdish Raj along with the police force reached Bank Colony and started investigation. Initially, there was an apprehension of some security-related incident, but the CCTV footage soon exposed the whole matter. SSP Daljinder Singh said that on searching the footage of the CCTV cameras installed nearby, it was found that Abhishek Kashyap, a resident of Bank Colony, was first trying to light a big cracker outside his grocery shop, but he did not succeed. After this, he went to the vacant plot adjacent to the shop, lit the cracker and returned to the road to wait for it to explode. The vacant plot where the cracker was burst is also in his possession. In the police interrogation, Abhishek denied knowledge of the incident earlier. However, when he was shown the CCTV footage, he admitted that the cracker was hidden in the house.
