Retailers Postpone No UPI Day Protest After Meeting with Finance Minister

On October 2, many retailers were going to protest against UPI-MDR charges by celebrating No UPI Day. But now this protest has been postponed. Recently, the retailers'body has held talks with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. This important decision has been taken. Actually, a meeting was held in the national capital on Wednesday. In this meeting, the business community put forward their government regarding the 0. 4% fee on merchant UPI payments of more than 2 thousand rupees. After this protest has been canceled. About 20 business representatives from different states of the country participated in this meeting. The delegation was led by Praveen Khandelwal, MP from Chandni Chowk and Secretary General of the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT). The traders said that the proposed fee may put an extra financial burden on small and medium businesses and the speed of adoption of digital payment can also be affected. After putting all their points in front of the government, they have asked the government to take note of all the proposed fees and make it clear to the business community before implementing this decision.
