A joint team of Hapur Nagar and Dehat police laid a siege near Bulandshahr Road and Village Dock late at night during checking and killed the miscreant Shyam, who was carrying a reward of Rs 50,000. The accused had carried out a robbery of crores of rupees on the night of June 1 by holding the family of industrialist Narendra Agarwal hostage and had been absconding since then. On trying to stop the police, the miscreant ran away from the motorcycle and took cover of the tubewell and started firing with the intention of killing. In retaliation, the bullet-injured miscreant died in the hospital. The Hapur Nagar police team was checking suspicious vehicles on Bulandshahr Road. Meanwhile, a motorcyclist was seen coming, who tried to flee on seeing the police. The police team immediately chased him and flashed a message on the wireless. On receiving the message, the Hapur Dehat police team surrounded the miscreant from the side of the village dock. Seeing the miscreant surrounding himself, the head constable Manoj Kumar started firing indiscriminately at the police.
