Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli's Participation in ODI World Cup Under Question

There has been a lot of debate surrounding the chances of two of India's greatest batsmen, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, playing in next year's ODI World Cup. The team management has time and again indicated that it does not want them to play, but these legends are also leaving no stone unturned to play in the World Cup. Meanwhile, former India chief selector Sandeep Patil has described the two legends as not very important for the team. Ever since Gautam Gambhir became the coach of Team India, their careers have been in crisis. Both of them have retired from Tests and T20Is and now play only ODIs. Former India all-rounder Patil says that considering the bench strength that India has, it will not be too much for them to miss out. He said that it is up to these two players not to play or retire. Speaking to SportsNext, Patil said, "Does it depend on these two players or do the selectors want to see their fitness?"
