Former India batter Mohammad Kaif believes Rohit Sharma has no intention of announcing his retirement from One-Day Internationals on his own and has instead left his future in the format entirely in the hands of the selectors. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Kaif said Rohit had previously made retirement decisions on his own terms. He stepped away from T20Is after India won the 2024 T20 World Cup, saying it was time for the next generation, and later retired from Test cricket in Australia during a difficult run of form. This time, it feels Rohit is taking a different approach. According to him, the former Indian captain has left the decision in the hands of head coach Gautam Gambhir and chief selector Ajit Agarkar.
