Efforts to end the long war between Russia and Ukraine seem to be gaining momentum. Russian President Vladimir Putin has agreed to resume trilateral talks with Washington and Kiev. Putin's agreement comes after a meeting in St. Petersburg with US President Donald Trump's envoy Steve Witkoff. The US administration has been trying to end the more than four-and-a-half-year-long conflict. Steve Witkoff's meeting with Putin lasted for about three hours. Putin's foreign affairs adviser Yury Ushakov said the president agreed to come to the negotiating table on the Ukraine war after his meeting with Witkoff. He will resume talks with Kiev and the United States after November 10. The trilateral talks will focus on how to prepare a strong Russian and Ukrainian security system after the conflict ends. President Vladimir Vetkoff met several European leaders in the Norwegian capital of Oslo, and President Vladimir Vetkowski in the Norwegian capital a day earlier.
