A large rally of the Samajwadi Party proposed for September 6 in Rampur Maniharan area of Saharanpur has been postponed for the time being. SP leaders, MLAs and workers were preparing for the rally for about a month. There were frequent meetings and workers were assigned different responsibilities. SP leader Chaudhary Indrasen said that due to bad weather and continuous rain, the rally ground has been flooded. Due to water and mud in the ground, it has been decided to go ahead with the program. He clarified that the rally has not been cancelled, but its date has been postponed. According to Chaudhary Indrasen, the new date of the rally will be announced after Dussehra. He claimed that the next rally will be bigger than the previous one. He said that apart from the rain, preparations for the Kanwar Yatra were also interrupted for some time. Despite this, preparations for the rally were going on continuously for about a month. Indrasen also said that SP national president Akhilesh Yadav himself had talked about coming to Saharanpur Court on September 2. Akhilesh Yadav had said that Akhilesh Yadav could reach his residence on the Saharanpur State Bank for lunch.
