Schools Closed in District Ahead of Kanwar Yatra

In view of the Kanwar Yatra on the first Monday of the month of Shravan and the crowd in Shiva temples, District Magistrate Dr. Rajendra Pansia has declared a holiday in all schools of the district on 3rd August 2026. As per the order, all government, aided and private schools from Nursery to Class 12 will remain closed. The district administration informed that this decision has been taken keeping in mind the smooth functioning of traffic arrangements, convenience of devotees and safety of students. All schools have been directed to strictly follow the order. Educational activities in schools will not be conducted on Monday, and regular Terai classes will start from the next working day. The Municipal Corporation has set up Sewa camps at several places on Kanth Road and Delhi Road. Camps have been arranged for cold drinking water through matkas so that Kanwariyas do not face any inconvenience during the journey. Duty of Municipal Corporation staff has also been imposed on these camps.
