SP Leader Akhilesh Yadav's Prioritization Pays Off in Western UP Assembly Elections

In the run-up to the last (2022) assembly elections, from ticket decisions to the conduct of the elections, the SP supremo gave primacy to their opinion. The results of this election saw the SP-RLD alliance win 41 of the 126 seats counted in the western UP region. Of these, 33 seats were won by SP candidates. Of the 27 seats in the Moradabad division, the SP won 17. Advertisers speculate that the meeting could also discuss issues in western UP that could help the SP make an electoral pitch. It is being said that the clampdown by investigating agencies on Azam Khan and his dream project Jauhar University and the prolonged agitation by its students could be a major issue for the SP. Similarly, the violence that erupted with the launch of the Harihar Mandir vs Jama Masjid case in Sambhal and its judicial inquiry report tabled in the House recently could also be on the SP's election agenda.
