In the Asian Games 2026, India's Suchika Tariyal created history by winning the bronze medal in Traditional Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). She lost in the semi-finals and her dream of reaching the final was shattered in the most dramatic way. In the women's 60 kg semi-final bout against Singapore's Teo Hui Hoon, Suchika did not lose the bout and was eliminated. The bout was declared a draw after official protest and review, but then the weight rule decided the finalist. The Indian side lodged an official protest after the bout.
