The work of the Supreme Court will not be affected on October 21 due to the government holiday on Dussehra. As usual, a special bench will hear two important cases. The bench of Justice Joyamalya Bagchi and Justice V. Mohana will sit. The first case, which will be heard in this special bench, is related to the demand of YSR Congress to extend the last date of nomination in the Andhra Pradesh urban body elections and the second case is related to the file of former Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, his daughter and friends. These people have challenged the order of the High Court in which they have been convicted in the cases against them. This petition in the Supreme Court seeks a stay on the vigilance proceedings in the Rs 278 crore CMRL X Logic case. The fear of arrest remains. Vijayan is also the leader of the opposition in Kerala. Apart from Vijayan, his daughter and son-in-law have also challenged the FIR. Senior lawyer Siddharth Luthra, appearing for him, has said that he wants to file an FIR or a strict order before the Kerala High Court.
