Surendranagar Mayor Selection Process Completed; Three Names in Contention

The process of selection of candidates for the post of Mayor of Surendranagar Municipal Corporation has been completed. Since the post of Mayor in Surendranagar is reserved for a male from the scheduled community, it has become difficult for the party to select a candidate. The names of Gajendra Chauhan, Rakesh Rathore and Ravi Rathore are doing the rounds. The post of Deputy Mayor and Executive Chairman of the city, which the party will take a final decision, has also been finalised. More than 10 candidates who have won the Municipal Corporation elections have filed their nominations for the post. The entire picture is likely to be clear by May 7.
