Tamil Nadu CM's Free Car Offer Rejected by DMK Amid Rising State Debt Concerns

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Thalapathy Vijay announced free cars to all 234 MLAs of the state, which was rejected by the DMK. Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly and former Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin rejected the government's offer, citing the state's rising debt, after which CM Vijay and Udhayanidhi Stalin came face to face once again. Leader of the Opposition Udhayanidhi Stalin announced that all 59 DMK MLAs had decided not to accept the offer. Leader of the Opposition, citing the increasing debt on the state, said that the TVK government itself had repeatedly exposed Tamil Nadu's financial woes. Udhayanidhi Stalin said, "The TVK government has been saying since the first day of assuming power that the government is debt-ridden, so all 59 DMK MLAs have decided not to take advantage of this offer. We appeal to the government to give free cars to the MLAs only if their election affidavits are checked."
