Chennai: The ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) in Tamil Nadu on Saturday released its first list of candidates for the Assembly elections. The list named 65 candidates of the Secular Progressive Alliance. The DMK named 28 candidates. The list was released by Chief Minister M K Stalin himself. He visited the memorial of his father and DMK founder M Karunanidhi on the occasion of the announcement of candidates. Stalin put up the list of candidates at his father's samadhi. The Chief Minister will contest from Kolathur. The DMK's first list has 28 candidates. The DMK got 164 seats in seat sharing. The total number of seats in Tamil Nadu is 234.
