Chennai: The new government in Tamil Nadu, led by Chief Minister Vijay, has taken strong steps to tackle corruption. The anti-corruption department has been strengthened to bring transparency and honesty in government administration. A bold new incentive scheme has been officially announced. Under this new policy, people are encouraged to file complaints without hesitation with proof if they are asked for a bribe in any government department. Even if the amount is as low as Rs. 1000, they are free to file complaints with evidence. The government has issued an important announcement, saying that those who file complaints with proper evidence against officials who ask for bribes will be given a cash reward of Rs. 100,000. What number to complain about corruption? A dedicated 24-hour toll-free helpline 1800 425 1555 has been launched by Thalapathy Vijay's TVK government to facilitate this process. The decision is aimed at involving the public in eliminating corruption completely from government offices. TVK has become a hot topic in its election campaign.
