Tamil Nadu Government's Free Car Offer Sparks Confrontation with Opposition

The Vijay government's decision to announce free cars to 234 MLAs in Tamil Nadu has led to a confrontation with the opposition DMK. In a heated debate in the state assembly, the DMK has officially rejected the offer of free government cars to the state government, citing mounting debt. Opposition leader Udhayanidhi Stalin has decided not to take advantage of this offer to all MLAs (59). He has also questioned the words and deeds of the TVK-led government. He said on Friday that since coming to power, the administration has repeatedly mentioned the state's financial crisis. Udhayanidhi has said that since the first day of assuming power, TVK has been saying that the government is in debt. The DMK has decided not to take this offer to all MLAs. He also appealed to the government to check the election affidavits before giving free cars to the MLAs.
