Chennai: Amid uncertainty over the formation of the new government in Tamil Nadu, an incident has shaken the administration. More than 100 law officers representing the state government have resigned from their posts. Earlier, in West Bengal too, many officers had quit their jobs. This is the first time that a Trinamool Congress government has stepped down and the BJP is forming the government in the state. In Tamil Nadu, these officers have resigned from their posts under the leadership of Advocate General पी.एस Raman. The appointment of government lawyers and law officers for this is mostly political. Traditionally, whenever there is a change of power in a state, the new government comes, the officers appointed by the previous government leave their posts. Then the new government elects people of their choice to these posts. These officers have been instructed to continue for a week after all the lawyers resign. This has been done so that there is no lawyer representing the state government in court. Usually, the new government appoints 3-4 lawyers as an interim arrangement but Vijay's TVK party government is still in suspense. That is why we have not appointed a law officer in the court.
