Tensions Escalate: Iran Launches Fresh Attacks on US Bases in Middle East

Rezaei's warning came after Iran launched fresh attacks on US bases in the Middle East, in what is being seen as the worst confrontation between the two countries in weeks. According to Iran's Revolutionary Guards, its forces targeted US bases in Jordan, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Kuwait, Bahrain, and Iraq's autonomous Kurdistan region. The strikes followed US military operations against Iranian bases that Tehran says killed 18 people. The new escalation in hostilities has complicated diplomatic efforts to resolve the six-month-old conflict. Iran is pressing ahead with the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz, while the US is imposing a retaliatory blockade targeting Iranian ports. An Iranian foreign ministry spokesman blamed a separate incident in the southern city of Sirte on growing global concern over tensions over the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's major oil and energy routes.
