Thalapathy Vijay's Party Promises Shake Tamil Nadu Politics

Chennai, Dec 4: History changes every time a superstar takes a plunge in Tamil Nadu politics, and Thalapathy Vijay has kept this tradition alive through his party TVK. Vijay's entry into the 2026 assembly elections has shaken the foundations of established parties with not just glamour, but also conviction and ground-level promises. Among the seven major promises in his manifesto, the most talked about is Madhipumigu Magalir Thittam, which promises direct financial assistance of Rs 2,500 per month to women heads of the family. Also, the promise of 6 free LPG cylinders a year under the Annapurna Super Six scheme and a silk saree with 8 grams of gold at the time of marriage has skyrocketed Vijay's popularity, especially among women voters. Vijay's Kamarajar Kalvi Urudhi Thittam, aimed at education and youth power, has announced an annual ID1 000 for students of classes 1 to 12, an ID1 000 for poor families, and a monthly stipend for the unemployed youth.
