A major political crisis is brewing within the TMC in West Bengal politics. The political storm has intensified after senior party leader and MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay joined the rebel camp and met Union Minister Bhupender Yadav in Delhi. According to sources, TMC MP Satabdi Roy was also present in Delhi during this time and she also met Bhupender Yadav at his residence. The whole development comes at a time when discontent within the party is coming out in the open. MP Jagdish Chandra Barma Basunia of the rebel faction has claimed that he has submitted a memorandum to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and on Monday he will formally demand recognition of his breakaway faction. He said, "We have submitted the letter. On Monday, we will meet the Lok Sabha Speaker to stake claim to form our real TMC parliamentary party and demand recognition." According to the rebel camp, 19 MPs have signed this proposal and 20 MPs have reached Delhi to discuss the strategy ahead. As many as 13 MPs have lost in the Lok Sabha elections and 28 MPs have lost at the organisational level in the party.
