The assembly elections in the state are just a month away. The ruling Trinamool Congress is gearing up for a high-octane campaign ahead of the first phase of polling in 152 seats on April 23. According to party sources, the TMC's top leadership will campaign separately in both North and South Bengal. On the other hand, the party's all-India general secretary Abhishek Banerjee will start campaigning from South Bengal on March 24. He is scheduled to hold his first public meeting at Patharpratima in South 24 Parganas. The next day, on March 25, he will hold meetings and workshops in several areas of East and West Midnapore, including Nandigram. He is likely to attend rallies in Daspur, Keshiari and Narayangarh, as well as rallies in Nandigram. Abhishek will also hold meetings and road shows in several assembly constituencies in North Bengal on March 26, 28 and 31. He will hold outreach programmes in different districts of the state throughout the month to galvanise the organisation ahead of the polls and build pressure on the opposition.
