The genie of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) is out once again. In the Bengal elections, there was a furore over the SIR and Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress (TMC) suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of the BJP. Once again, TMC Rajya Sabha MP Sagarika Ghose has alleged that the voter list process is being manipulated to benefit the BJP. Sagarika Ghose said that 23 opposition parties have jointly written to the CJI demanding a judicial inquiry into the electoral process. Speaking to news agency ANI, Ghosh claimed that the opposition is united in raising concerns about the SIR process and has accused the Election Commission of working in favour of the ruling party. The TMC leader said that there is complete unity among the non-NDA opposition that the SIR process is being used to benefit the BJP and manipulate the election results. This has never happened before.
