Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar is scheduled to arrive in West Bengal early next week for a two-day visit. The second phase of the budget session of Parliament begins at the same time. The move to move an impeachment motion against Gyanesh Kumar coincides with the visit of the national election commissioner to the state. According to party sources, the notice for the impeachment motion is planned to be submitted in the Lok Sabha during the visit of the country's chief electoral officer Gyanesh Kumar to Kolkata. According to the TMC's rules, at least 100 MPs are needed to bring an impeachment motion in the Lok Sabha. Work has already started to gather support in the opposition camp. If necessary, the alternative route to bring a motion with the signatures of 50 MPs in the Rajya Sabha has also been kept open. However, the ruling party in Bengal is giving more importance to the Lok Sabha in terms of numbers. According to sources, the TMC has already held a series of talks with the Congress, Samajwadi Party, DMK, and other opposition parties regarding the impeachment motion against Gyanesh Kumar. In the first phase of the budget session, the TMC has said that it will publicly support the motion against Gyanesh Kumar in the second session itself.
