Transport Corporation Cracks Down on Ticketless Travel with New SOP

Stringent action will be taken against operators for repeated instances of ticketless travel. The SOP directs the operators to issue valid tickets to each passenger as per the prescribed fare. The SOP also includes provision for issue of over-priced tickets, keeping in mind the revenue interests of the corporation, if there is any doubt about the age of a child. Under the new provisions, action will be decided on the basis of fare amount, number of passengers in the bus and the operator's past service record.
