She said in a letter to the Commissioner of Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation (BMC), "I tender my resignation from the post of Mayor of Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation due to personal reasons." Meanwhile, Chakraborty told the media, "I have resigned from the post of Mayor, but I will continue to work for the citizens as a Councillor. I want to take some time off from my post as West Bengal Municipal Corporation."
