The Trinamool Congress suffered another political jolt on Wednesday when Rajya Sabha MP Sushmita Dev resigned from the party and the Upper House. After Sukhendu Sekhar Roy, she is the second MP to resign in a week. Dev will meet Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman सी.पी Radhakrishnan at 1 pm today and submit her resignation. Before her resignation, there was a lot of discontent within the party and a few days ago, many Trinamool MPs had reportedly expressed their support to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). This development comes after rebel TMC MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar claimed on Monday that about 20 MPs of the party had expressed their willingness to join the NDA. According to Dastidar, a letter was submitted to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla about this move. According to Dastidar, Dastidar is leading a rebel faction of the TMC and has been made its chief whip. Senior MP Satabdi Roy has been made a rebel leader within the TMC.
