Trump Claims Firefighters Saved Him During 9/11 Attacks

President Donald Trump has once again tried to place himself at the center of the 9/11 terrorist attacks incident. This time, his new claim is that firefighters picked him up from the building he feared would fall during the attack. This was stated at an event at the White House on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. The event was held in honor of emergency responders (emergency response personnel) just before the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks. Trump said that shortly after the attacks, he took a large group of employees to the area. He reported that when the nearby One Liberty Plaza building, which he called the "United States Steel Building," began to crumble, two firefighters grabbed him and pulled him to safety. According to CNN, Trump dramatized the incident by saying, "I was building a big building in New York immediately after the September 11, 2001 attacks, and the United States Steel Team was literally taking us there when the building was collapsing."
