Trump Faces Criticism Over Extended Deployment of Warship Abraham Lincoln to Iran War Zone

Questions are being raised about US President Donald Trump's decision to extend the deployment of the warship Abraham Lincoln to the Iran war. Democratic senators have lambasted the US president. After more than eight and a half months at sea, there are reports of poor living conditions and lack of rest for the crew. The Lincoln warship has been helping in the Middle East military campaign for about 8 months during the US-Iran war, with 5,000 sailors on board. Senator Richard Blumenthal, Democrat of Connecticut, in a letter to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Acting Navy Secretary Hung Cao, mentioned a list of problems reported on the ship. He wrote about the problems, "There have been widespread reports of lack of basic supplies, water contamination, plumbing problems, deteriorating mental health, concerns about deck safety, and postal service disruptions." He further wrote, "Due to these disruptions, the ship's" Care Package "was lost for several months." The Trump Administration and "Stripes & Stripes" said that "many of these problems were reported months ago."
