US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has asked for the resignation of US Army Chief of Staff General Randy George. Randy George has been asked to step down and retire immediately. Army Vice Chief of Staff General Christopher Lanave will replace George. The US Defense Department has not been told the reasons behind Randy George's removal, which is causing some controversy. Reportedly, the Department needed someone who could implement President Donald Trump's vision for the military. In a statement, Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell announced that Randy George will retire from his position as the 41st Chief of Staff of the Army, effective immediately. The Department of Defense thanks General George for his decades of service and wishes him well on his retirement.
