Trump Justifies Arms Sale to Taiwan During Meeting with Xi Jinping, Ambassador Reveals

US Ambassador to China David Perdue has made a big claim about the meeting between Trump and Xi Jinping. He said on Sunday that President Trump justified the proposed arms sale to Taiwan to Chinese President Xi Jinping. He called it one of Washington's many sales around the world. He also downplayed it. Trump also proposed to China whether they would buy American weapons. David Perdue said that Trump has talked about the possibility of arms sales from the United States to his emerging geopolitical rival. He said that it was an unexpected offer that, if fulfilled, would reverse generations of US policy toward China and Taiwan. Potentially, American technology could fall into the hands of a potential enemy. Speaking to Shannon Bream on Fox News Sunday, Perdue, however, did not say when the offer was made. Bream asked if the US was happy to give Taiwan arms.
