Trump Praises Israel as 'Great Ally', Accuses it of Provoking War with Iran

Amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, an incomplete ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, and uncertainty over Iran's peace talks with the United States, President Donald Trump once again praised Israel. Accusing Israel of provoking the United States to wage war against Iran, Trump called it "a great ally" of the United States. Trump used key words such as "courageous, fearless, and understanding" to praise Israel and also took a jibe at NATO countries. He said, "They are courageous, fearless, loyal, and understanding and unlike others who have shown their true colors in moments of war and tension, Israel fights with all their might and knows how to win." Trump's big praise for Israel comes at a time when there are reports that Trump surprised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his advisers with a social media post. Trump's post indicated that Israel was "stopping Israel" from attacking Lebanon, according to a White House post.
