Trump Shifts Focus from Military Action Against Iran to Economic Pressure

US President Donald Trump has signaled a step back from another major military campaign against Iran. Washington is now reported to be working on a strategy to increase economic pressure on Tehran. During an interview with Axios on Sunday, Trump took a restrained stance on Iran. He made clear that his administration is taking a much less aggressive stance (low key) at the moment, rather than issuing any new military warnings. Trump said that he is only closely monitoring Iran's deteriorating economic situation and its high inflation. Donald Trump said, "Given Iran's high inflation and the fact that they don't have money, we are keeping the matter quiet and having partial talks with them." According to Trump, Iran's economic situation is very bad and it doesn't even have the money to pay its soldiers. The US naval blockade has increased the pressure on Tehran's economy more than 75 times. The US president said that he was advised by his allies to stop large-scale economic pressure on the Gulf and take crude oil instead.
