Trump Slams Spain as 'Failed Partner' in NATO, Refuses to Do Business

During a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte on the sidelines of the 2026 NATO summit, Trump spoke to reporters. Trump criticized Spain's role in the military alliance. He called Spain a "failed partner" and said he wanted nothing to do with Spain. Ad Trump said, "There's no hope from Spain anymore. Well, we don't want to do any business with Spain anymore. Spain is a bad partner in NATO. They don't participate or give money. I don't want anything to do with Spain. Ad Spain is the only NATO member that refuses to accept the alliance's new defense spending goal. This goal was announced last year at the 2025 Hague summit.
