Trump Threatens to Attack Iran's Civilian Infrastructure, Seize Kharg Island

US President Donald Trump says that after the previous day's attacks, he may launch more attacks on Iran on Wednesday night. Before meeting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a NATO summit in Turkey, Trump told reporters, "Let me be a little careful, we're going to hit them hard tonight." Iranian leaders are strongly opposed to Trump's threat to attack Kharg Island, a major oil export hub. To this, Ebrahim Rezaei, a spokesman for the Iranian parliament's national security and foreign policy committee, wrote on X: "Let's wait for you and we promise that not a single American soldier will return alive." Iran's former foreign minister Ali Akbar Velayati had earlier warned of a "tough response" to the escalation in tensions in the region.
