Trump's Old Air Force One Used Amid FBI Probe into Journalists

Gifted by US ally Qatar, the new aircraft was modernized by the Trump administration at a cost of about $400 million and underwent several necessary modifications. The aircraft entered service just last week. However, Trump used the old Air Force One on his way back from a NATO summit in Turkey. He later cited threats he had received from Iran. Journalists have been invited to testify before a Manhattan federal grand jury next week through adverts. According to the New York Times, federal agents went to the homes of some of the reporters. The action was reported to have been taken after a meeting at the White House of FBI Director Kash Patel and other Justice Department officials. A person with knowledge of the matter, speaking on condition of anonymity, gave this information. Among the journalists who received the summons were Julian E. Barnes, Eric Lipton, Tyler Pager, and Eric Schuert. The New York Times first reported that a senior FBI official had contacted a reporter but did not stop the story.
