Turkey Suspects Iranian Assassination Plot Against Trump Was a Ruse

A new and sensational claim about an alleged Iranian assassination plot that surfaced during US President Donald Trump's visit to Turkey has now emerged. According to Middle East Eye, Turkish officials suspect that the Israeli intelligence report of a plot to assassinate Trump through Iran was probably a ruse, intended to derail ongoing negotiations with Iran and undermine Trump's growing relationship with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Security was suddenly stepped up before Trump left Turkey after the NATO summit on July 8. US officials provided Turkey with intelligence from Israel claiming that a covert Iranian operation unit could target Trump's plane. The report raised fears of the use of shoulder-to-air missiles (MANDPA). Trump's security team then took additional steps. His plane was prepared to take off from another airport first. Later, old Air Force One aircraft were used, according to US officials. Recent security reports claim a new Trump aircraft was transported to the airport.
