In another step towards the all-round development of Mohali under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the AAP government Tuesday launched a major infrastructure project worth Rs 17.71 crore for the construction andupgradation of key chowks and T-junctionsacross the city. The project was formally inaugurated by Mohali MLA Kulwant Singh near Gurdwara Singh Shaheedan, Sohana, where the work commenced after an ardas was performed in the presence of the Gurdwara Management Committee.Under this project, new chowks will be constructed at Gurdwara Singh Shaheedan, Sohana, the Sector 78/79 junction, and the junction near CP-67 Mall. In addition, several major junctions are being upgraded, including the ISER T-Point on Airport Road (already about 90 per cent complete), Cheema Boiler Chowk T-Point, and Quark City Junction. All construction work has been entrusted to M/s Griftcon Infrastructure Company and is scheduled to be completed by October 2026.Before the commencement of work, an ardas was performed in the presence of the entire Gurdwara Management Committee. The committee requested that the new chowk be named after Baba Ji. Responding to the request, MLA Kulwant Singh assured them that he would take up the matter with the government and make every effort to name the chowk after “Amar Shaheed Jathedar Baba Hanuman Singh Ji”.
