Ukraine is considering a bizarre move to increase its defense budget amid the ongoing war with Russia. A new bill introduced by Ukrainian MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak plans to legalize pornography in the country. According to the Wall Street Journal, the bill, supported by Ukrainian MP and Chairman of the Finance Committee of the Parliament Yaroslav Zheleznyak, states that legalizing the adult industry could bring the country about $25 million in tax revenue. This tax could be used to purchase 30,000 combat drones for the military. The production, storage, or distribution of adult content is completely illegal in Ukraine under current laws, punishable by up to 7 years in prison. Despite this, the industry continues to flourish under the guise of police corruption. Ukrainian tax authorities have recently started charging adult content creators a tax, however, Yeroslav Zheleznyak, Chairman of the Finance Committee of the Parliament, highlights this ridiculous situation.
