UP Weather: Monsoon is going to be active once again in the state. Heavy rains with widespread rainfall are expected in the state this week. According to the Meteorological Department, the average temperature in the month is likely to be above normal, but the maximum temperature in the state may fall by up to four degrees Celsius this week. Meteorologist Atul Kumar Singh said that the monsoon trough is gradually shifting northwards due to the progressive weakening of the well-defined low-pressure area centered over south eastern Rajasthan and moving west-north. This is likely to strengthen the monsoon flow gradually over the Gangetic plains. The Terai region of the state has been receiving heavy rains during the last 24 hours. Siddharthnagar, in particular, received very heavy rainfall. Bansi recorded the highest 242.4 mm rainfall. Singh informed that on Monday, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Basti, Maharajganj, Siddharthnagar, Shravastipur, Balrampur, Bahraich, Sitapur, Shahjahanpur, Shahjahanpur, Lakhimpur Kheri, its surrounding areas received heavy rainfall.
