The Chief Minister was addressing the gathering after unveiling a grand statue of braveheart Avantibai Lodhi along with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday. He said that the project, which was started during the SP regime in the name of Jai Prakash Narayan, who dedicated his entire life for the protection of democracy, cost Rs 200 crore, but remained incomplete despite spending Rs 864 crore. The work, which was to be completed in 18 months, was incomplete even after two years. A committee was formed to keep the SP's hold on the Centre, which included Akhilesh Yadav, Dimple Yadav, Dharmendra Yadav, Akhilesh's personal secretary and SP spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary. AdvertisementCM Yogi said that the Rs 864 crore spent on JPNIC does not belong to the Saifai syndicate, but to the people of Uttar Pradesh. No political party can be allowed to loot public money. The government has dissolved the committee and taken back the centre. Now, under the guidance of Lucknow Development Authority, it will be run by Jay Prakash Narayan.
