US Attacks Iran Again: China Calls for Ceasefire as Crisis Escalates

The Middle East is once again caught in a major crisis after the US attacked Iran again. The US Central Command has said that on June 10, several bases in Iran were attacked in self-defense. In response, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) said that it has targeted ships in the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, China's Foreign Ministry has called for an immediate halt to all military actions in the region and a return to the negotiating table. News agency Reuters reports that Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said, "China urges all involved countries to immediately stop military attacks. All countries should return to the negotiating track and respect peace efforts by other countries. Agree on a strong and long-lasting ceasefire as soon as possible." The United States has once again started attacking several bases in Iran. Donald Hague and Defense Secretary Pete Bush have warned that if the US does not agree to a nuclear deal with Tehran, military action will be taken.
