America On Russian Crude Oil: The United States has extended for a month its waivers to buy oil and other petroleum products from India and other countries. US President Donald Trump's administration made the announcement on Friday. The waivers expired last Saturday. Notably, US Treasury Secretary Scott Besant had recently said that the waivers on Russian and Iranian oil would not be extended. According to a Reuters report, the US Treasury Department has extended until May 16 its waivers to buy oil loaded on ships. The waivers expired on April 11. According to intelligence firm Kpler, in March, India bought an average of 1.98 million barrels of crude oil per day from Russia, the most since June 2023. India has promised to increase its LPG supplies to India by about 60 million barrels of oil from Russia for delivery in April.
