US-Iran Tensions Escalate: Strait of Hormuz Closed Amid Military Airstrikes

The clouds of war have once again deepened in West Asia. Tensions between the United States and Iran have escalated over the past few days. Iran on Sunday announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's most important sea trade routes, "until further notice." Hours later, the United States launched fresh airstrikes on several Iranian military bases and strategic areas. This escalating conflict between the two countries has once again become a major threat to global oil and gas supplies. Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy issued a statement saying that a ship did not follow the designated sea route and even closed its navigation systems. Despite the warning, the ship did not change course, after which it was targeted. The IRGC claims that many other ships also tried to pass through unsanctioned routes. After this, Iran decided to close the entire Strait of Hormuz until further orders, warning that the Strait would not be opened until the US decided to intervene.
