US Mandates Online Applications for Immigration Benefits

The United States is soon going to make it mandatory to apply online for immigration benefits such as green cards, citizenship, and asylum. The goal is to make work more efficient and reduce operating costs. According to information from Washington, this change will apply to forms that are already available for e-filing. In the new rule published in the Federal Register on Monday, the US Citizenship and Immigration Service said that it will now be mandatory to fill out the form for which e-filing has been available for at least 180 days. Along with this, a process has also been established under which a form can only be made online with at least 60 days'notice. The Department of Homeland Security has come up with an interim final rule that allows USCIS to mandate electronic filing for some immigration forms. Under this rule, in the future, any immigration form that has been available for e-filing for at least 180 days can be filed online. The US Immigration and Immigration Services (USCIS) will give less than 60 days'notice to those who submit their application online for any form.
