US Midterm Elections: Republicans Face Tight Race Against Democrats

There are 210 million voters exercising their franchise. All 435 seats in the lower house are up for election. Republicans currently hold a slim majority. Out of a total of 100 seats in the Senate, 35 seats are up for election this time. 36 states in the country are also voting for new governors (heads of state). Republicans currently hold a slim majority of just one or two seats in the House of Representatives. According to polls and political analysts, the opposition Democratic Party has a good chance of regaining control of the house. Democrats appear to have the upper hand in the electoral equations.
