US Negotiators to Visit Ukraine and Russia Amid Efforts to End Four-Year War

Efforts to end the nearly four-and-a-half-year war between Russia and Ukraine seem to be gaining momentum once again. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Thursday that US negotiators trying to find a way out for a possible peace deal with Russia may visit Ukraine and Russia in the coming days. Zelenskyy said in a video address that early dates are set for the visit of US presidential representatives to Ukraine. He said that US representatives are to meet in both Moscow and Kiev. Zelenskyy said that these meetings in the coming days are of great importance. This activity of American negotiators has come to the fore when Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi directly spoke to Russian President Vladimir Putin about the Ukraine war. The two leaders met bilaterally during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. During this, PM Modi continued to refer to the humanitarian impact of the war. Modi said that the world "never steps back from war."
