US Vice President: Negotiations Underway to Ensure Safe Passage Through Strait of Hormuz

Tensions between Iran and the United States over the Strait of Hormuz are far from over. US Vice President J.D. Vance said on Saturday that the United States is in the midst of negotiations and strategy on Iran's case and is trying to create a safe passage for ships in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has set a number of conditions for the reopening of the Strait. Iran says the United States will have to change its attitude first, only then can the opening of Hormuz be moved forward. In an interview with Fox News, Vance said the United States is using a variety of measures, including diplomatic, economic, and military, to achieve a better outcome. He said he is very confident about the situation and that "some progress" has been made in negotiations with Iran. Vance said the United States expects the same amount of oil and gas to come out of the Gulf as it did before the conflict began. According to him, however, Iran also trusts the United States to do so.
