US VP Vance: China Willing to Discuss Isolating Iran Economically

US Vice President J.D. Vance's big statement on China comes amid US efforts to increase economic pressure on Iran. Vance said China is willing to talk to the United States to try to isolate Iran economically. Vance, however, also made clear that China is not willing to listen to everything the United States says. At a White House media briefing, J.D. Vance was asked if the U.S. campaign to isolate Iran economically can succeed without China's help. Vance said China is willing to talk to the United States on the issue. J.D. Vance acknowledged that the United States and China have many policy differences and that not all countries have the same interests. Despite this, he said President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping have a good relationship. Vance said that Beijing is acting more responsibly than countries that target commercial vessels in international disputes. Vance said this does not mean that the United States, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar are meeting all U.S. demands.
